Meet Falcon: PhD-level AI employees, tested thousands of times over
Today we're launching Inovia Falcon Workflows. It's the platform behind the work our customers have relied on for the past two years, now in one place.
Falcon is an end-to-end AI system that completes PhD-level drug development work in hours, with a responsible human expert reviewing and signing off where it matters. Think of it as a team of AI PhD-level employees that works alongside your experts, not instead of them.
There's no beta and no alpha. Our AI employees have been used in regulatory-grade workflows by tens of Inovia customers for the past two years, with significant time gains across the board. Falcon is simply the step where we bring them together.
Why we built it this way
Anyone can get an AI to write a first draft. The hard part is getting a regulatory or clinical lead to put their name on it. They can’t do that with a black box, and they shouldn’t.
So we started with trust, not with the model. We built around real drug development tasks, kept an expert in charge of every decision and sign-off, and then wrote tests until we could prove each output held up. Falcon is what you get when you do it in that order.
We wanted to give that time back, without asking anyone to trust a black box. So the experts stay in charge of every decision and every sign-off. Falcon does the heavy lifting.
The real product is the data platform and test suite
People ask me about the AI first. Honestly, the more important part is what sits around it: our data platform and a suite of thousands of automated tests that check every output for accuracy, safety and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance.
Those tests came from two years of real customer work. And the suite grows every week, across all workflows. It's why we can stand behind what Falcon produces.
What's inside
Falcon brings eight validated workflows together in one platform:
- A GCP-compliant workflow from study protocol to statistical analysis plan to code to results, with a human in the loop
- Clinical study report authoring and completion, to regulatory grade
- Epidemiological and commercial forecasting to regulatory standards
- Target product profile and clinical development plan drafting, optimisation and validation
- Indication prioritisation
- Competitive intelligence landscaping across pipelines, the clinical trial space and clinical development, powered by InovaLandscape
- Systematic literature reviews
- Targeted literature reviews
Work that normally takes months of specialist time is ready for expert review in hours. That includes regulatory-grade forecasts and clinical study reports.
Who it's for
Lean biotechs that need big-pharma depth without big-pharma headcount. And large teams whose experts are spread across too many programmes. In both cases, Falcon extends what the team can do. It doesn't replace anyone.
New PhD-level AI employees, in days
Because the test suite is the foundation, Falcon also lets us build new PhD-level AI employees within days, each held to the same standard of accuracy, safety and GCP compliance. That's the part I'm most excited about. Every new AI employee starts with two years of real-world proof behind the platform it's built on.
"Our customers have relied on these workflows for two years, so Falcon is really the proof point. The thousands of automated tests are what let us stand behind every output as accurate, safe and GCP compliant, and they are also how we can build new PhD-level AI employees in a fraction of the time. The experts stay in charge. We just give them far more room to use their judgement."
Antonio Nicolae, Co-Founder and CTO, Inovia Bio
"Drug development has never been short of good ideas. It is short of expert time. Falcon takes on the heavy lifting, from forecasts to clinical study reports, so drug developers and regulatory leaders can spend their hours on the decisions only they can make. A human still reviews and signs off every output."
Imi Faghmous, Co-Founder and CDO, Inovia Bio
What this means for the industry
The conversation has been stuck on "can AI do this work?" We think the better question is "how do we apply it at scale, safely?". Falcon shows that speed and regulatory-grade quality can go together, as long as a named human stays accountable. Faster, more consistent evidence means promising therapies can reach patients sooner. That’s what we’re building for.
Falcon Workflows is available now. If you'd like to see it on your own programme, we'd love to show you.
